Best Time to Visit Lake Manyara National Park

The best time to visit Lake Manyara National Park is during the dry season from June to October, when animals concentrate near water sources and the landscape is easier to navigate for game drives. Wildlife is abundant and sightings of elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, and lions are highly reliable.

The short dry season (January–February) is also excellent, offering clear skies and active wildlife. During the rainy months (March–May and November–December), the park is lush and green, flamingos arrive in large numbers at Lake Manyara, and birdwatching is at its best. Roads may be muddy, but the scenery and birdlife make it worthwhile for nature enthusiasts.
